Larson Clinches 2025 NASCAR Cup Series Championship

In a thrilling conclusion to the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series at Phoenix Raceway, Kyle Larson captured his second championship title, overcoming a late-race restart. Larson’s strong early season, featuring three wins and five top-five finishes in the first twelve races, set the stage for his Playoffs resurgence after a mid-season slump.

Denny Hamlin, initially leading and seeking his first Cup Series crown with what could have been a seventh win, faced disappointment as Larson’s strategic drive secured the victory. “We fought hard all season, and I can’t thank my team enough for their support,” Larson stated post-race.

Notable performances throughout the season included Shane van Gisbergen, who made an impressive transition from the Supercars Championship, clinching five road-course wins in his first full Cup Series season with Trackhouse Racing. Meanwhile, William Byron repeated as Daytona 500 champion and secured his second regular season title and third consecutive Championship 4 appearance.

In the Xfinity Series, Connor Zilisch dominated with ten wins but was edged out for the championship by Jesse Love at the season finale. Corey Heim showcased mastery in the Craftsman Truck Series, achieving twelve wins across twenty-five races, including five victories in the Playoffs.

As the motorsports community reflects on these standout performances, fans are invited to vote for the 2025 NASCAR Driver of the Year, with voting open for 72 hours. Results will be announced on January 15. Additionally, look out for upcoming voting for Sports Car Racing Marque of the Year.
