Josh Berry and Carson Hocevar Clash at Sonoma

In a pivotal moment of the recent NASCAR Cup Series race at Sonoma Raceway, Josh Berry collided with Carson Hocevar, resulting in significant repercussions for both drivers. Berry, who finished in 13th place, inadvertently sent Hocevar’s No. 77 spinning to a 32nd-place finish.

Berry clarified the incident post-race, stating, "The 43 car was a restart at Turn 7. We were all jammed up. I made a mistake with Carson at Turn 1. I misjudged the timing and hit him." He expressed remorse, noting, "I tried to reach out to Carson on Monday but didn’t hear back. I also spoke with Luke Lambert, Hocevar’s crew chief, to offer my apologies."

Despite being involved in multiple on-track altercations this season, Hocevar has shifted away from aggression this time. He has opted not to respond to Berry’s outreach, believing apologies don’t change race situations.

As the season progresses, tensions and competitive incidents reflect the high stakes within the NASCAR Cup Series, illustrating the balance between aggression and caution that drivers must navigate.
