Snetterton Race Day Report: 2 Seas Motorsport Dominates GT3
Snetterton, UK – Kiern Jewiss and Charles Dawson of 2 Seas Motorsport secured a commanding victory in Race 1 of the British GT Championship, clinching a 1-2 finish at Snetterton with their #42 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo. Starting from pole, the duo extended their championship lead by 15 points, now ahead of Blackthorn’s Giacomo Petrobelli and Jonny Adam.
Jewiss and Dawson’s win was complemented by solid performances from their #18 teammates, Kevin Tse and Maximilian Götz, who finished second after fending off Barwell Motorsport’s #78 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2 in a tense final phase.
“We knew we needed to win this one,” said Dawson, reflecting on their strategy that included a risk-taking setup adjustment. The #42 car, while still carrying a 25 kg weight ballast, showcased exceptional speed and control throughout the race.
Reigning champion Rob Collard’s attempts to challenge were thwarted by an ABS issue that dropped him from third to eighth. The race saw intensive battles early on, with Jewiss building over a 10-second lead after pit stops, ultimately managing the gap skillfully to secure the victory. Paddock Motorsport achieved a season-best fifth place, while Team Parker Racing’s #66 Porsche rounded out the top six.
