2026 Asian Le Mans Series: Entry List and Championship Outlook for the 4 Hours of Abu Dhabi

The final round of the 2026 Asian Le Mans Series, the 4 Hours of Abu Dhabi, is set for this weekend at Yas Marina Circuit, featuring a competitive 46-car entry list. The race will play a crucial role in determining championship titles and invites to the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans.

LMP2 Updates

In the LMP2 category, the entry remains intact with 16 ORECA 07 – Gibsons. However, the participation of Fred Poordad for RD Limited is uncertain due to ongoing recovery from back pain. Last weekend’s line-up, including James Sweetnam as a potential stand-in, is expected unless further notice specifies otherwise.

LMP3 Driver Changes

The LMP3 class sees significant changes, particularly for R-ACE GP’s #85 Duqueine D09 – Toyota, with Fabian Michal and Pierre-Alexandre Provost returning to the team alongside debutant Zack Scoular. The 18-year-old Scoular arrives in good form, recently winning the New Zealand Grand Prix in the Formula Regional Oceania Trophy.

GT Class Adjustments

In the GT class, the #54 Vista AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3 will feature Custodio Toledo and Riccardo Agostini, replacing Nigel Schoonderwoerd and Yelmer Buurman. Toledo and Agostini have previous experience competing with the team in the European Le Mans Series. Kiyoto Fujinami will return to the #77 Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) after being substituted by Huub van Eijndhoven during the Dubai round. Notably, the #89 EBM Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo has been withdrawn due to driver rating issues, leaving the GT field with 20 entries.

Championship Context

Heading into the final round, championship implications are significant across all classes. In LMP2, the #47 Cetilar Racing and #4 CrowdStrike Racing by APR ORECAs are tied atop the standings, with Cetilar leading based on superior second-place finishes. Algarve Pro Racing’s #25 ORECA stands as the third contender, trailing by 16 points.

In LMP3, the top four entries are within 11 points of each other, highlighted by CLX Motorsport’s #17 Ligier holding a slim one-point lead over the #13 Inter Europol Competition entry. The #29 Forestier Racing by VPS and 23Events Racing’s #71 Ligier follow closely.

Kessel Racing occupies a strong position in GT, leading with a 21-point advantage over defending champions Manthey’s #10 Porsche. Only eight points separate the second to fifth positions, making for a highly competitive finale.

Event Schedule

Race activities commence with two Free Practice sessions on Friday, February 6, followed by Qualifying and Race 1 on Saturday, culminating in the championship-deciding race on Sunday.

This weekend promises high-stakes action as teams battle for both titles and the coveted Le Mans invitations across all classes.
