Mercedes-AMG Unveils Concept AMG GT Track Sport
Mercedes-AMG has revealed images of its new Concept AMG GT Track Sport, a vehicle poised to enhance the GT lineup. Described as “uncompromising” and engineered to achieve record times, the camouflaged prototype is set for track testing.
The announcement highlights Mercedes-AMG’s capabilities as a leading sports car manufacturer, indicating the new model may incorporate a V8 engine and suggests an expansion of the GT series. This concept is seen as a precursor to the next-generation GT3 car that is anticipated to enter production as a limited model.
German media reports indicate that the upcoming GT3 car will likely feature a carbon-fibre chassis paired with a 4.4-litre turbocharged V8 engine. This vehicle will be the first developed under the newly established Affalterbach Racing GmbH, marking a shift from reliance on HWA, which has produced previous GT models.
The Concept AMG GT Track Sport underscores Mercedes-AMG’s commitment to innovation in motorsports, with expectations of official unveiling and further technical specifications nearing confirmation.
