AO Racing Enters Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach to Defend GTD Title
Long Beach, CA – AO Racing prepares to defend its GTD class victory at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach with the pink Porsche 911 GT3 R, dubbed “Roxy,” following a successful campaign last year.
The team, led by Jonny Edgar and Laurens Vanthoor in 2025, will now feature Danish driver Mikkel O. Pedersen on his IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut. Pedersen, a Silver-rated driver, brings a wealth of experience, having secured two FIA World Endurance Championship class wins in the LMGTE Am category. He has also competed in Porsche Supercup and GT World Challenge Europe.
Gunnar Jeannette, Team Principal of AO Racing, stated, “It’s great to be bringing Roxy to Long Beach this year after Rexy’s win in 2025. Harry is no stranger to the team, but it will be Mikkel’s first time driving our dino-Porsche. We were impressed by Mikkel’s driving in the WEC and are looking forward to his IMSA debut with us.”
Harry King played a significant role in AO Racing’s recent success, helping secure a runner-up finish at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, where “Roxy” led 130 laps and contributed to a Porsche 1-2 finish in GTD Pro alongside co-drivers Nick Tandy and Alessio Picariello.
AO Racing joins Pfaff Motorsports as one of two confirmed GTD Pro regulars transitioning to GTD for the 100-minute sprint event scheduled for Saturday, April 18.
