Aston Martin Dominates Final Practice Ahead of Fuji Qualifying

At Fuji Speedway, the Aston Martin Thor Team’s Valkyries showcased their speed during the final practice session before qualifying. The #007 car, driven by Harry Tincknell, set the fastest time of 1:29.492, marking a clear statement of intent ahead of the qualifying heats.

Closely following, the #009 sister car secured fourth place with a lap just two-tenths off the leading time. The Hertz Team JOTA’s Cadillacs demonstrated competitive form as well, with the #38 car clocking second at 1:29.516, and the #12 finishing third. Driver Alex Lynn commented, “It’s a big turnaround from yesterday to today with the cooler conditions,” emphasizing the importance of maintaining rear tire performance on the challenging circuit.

Peugeot, which led the preliminary sessions on Friday, concluded the final practice in fifth place with the #94 9X8, trailing the top time by 0.242 seconds.

In LMGT3, Heart Of Racing excelled, leading both classes as Zach Robichon pushed the #59 United Autosports McLaren to second position with a time of 1:40.800, while the #27 Vantage LMGT3 topped the charts. Team principal Ian James expressed pride in achieving this dual lead: “It’s pretty amazing… I’m looking forward to qualifying,” he stated.

One incident marked the session as Ben Tuck was forced to retire the #77 Proton Ford Mustang early due to an engine failure, reporting, “Engine issue, water pressure, the engine’s gone.”

Qualifying is scheduled to commence at 14:20 local time, setting the stage for a thrilling race ahead.
