Audi Appoints Rouven Mohr as Chief Technical Officer
In a strategic leadership shift, Audi has announced that Rouven Mohr will assume the role of Chief Technical Officer (CTO) and join the board of management starting March 1, 2026. Mohr transitions from his current position as technical head at Lamborghini, where he has been instrumental in overseeing the development of key models, including the Temerario GT3.
Mohr returns to Audi with an extensive 18-year background within the Volkswagen Group, having previously contributed to vehicle development and emissions verification at Audi. He will succeed Geoffrey Bouquot, who is leaving the company to pursue new opportunities.
“Rouven Mohr is a distinguished technology expert who combines in-depth know-how with a clear focus on long-term value creation for Audi,” stated Manfred Döss, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Audi AG. His expertise is expected to invigorate Audi’s innovation agenda, according to Jörg Schlagbauer, Chairman of the General Works Council of AUDI AG, who emphasized the importance of technological modernization in the brand’s strategy.
Gernot Döllner, CEO of Audi, praised Mohr for his technical excellence and execution strength, stating, “He will play a central role in further accelerating our innovation.”
Mohr will continue to fulfill his responsibilities at Lamborghini until a successor is appointed. He noted the necessity for dedicated leadership within motorsport operations, explaining, “Motorsport is part of R&D in Lamborghini, but I cannot do it continuously; it needs a dedicated person.” He aims to attend races as a spectator starting from the Sebring 12 Hours, post the Daytona events.
This leadership transition represents a pivotal moment for Audi as it seeks to enhance its competitive edge in the motorsports sector, reinforcing its tagline of “Vorsprung durch Technik.”
