AWA Unveils Patriotic Livery for 24 Hours of Le Mans

Laval, Canada — AWA has unveiled a striking new livery for its #13 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 LMGT3.R ahead of this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. The team has shifted from its traditional black and golden-yellow design to a bold red and white scheme, paying homage to its Canadian heritage.

In a press release, AWA emphasized that “this special livery symbolizes our hometown roots and national pride,” aiming to showcase Canadian motorsport on the global stage.

Orey Fidani, AWA driver and the 2024 IMSA Bob Akin Award recipient, stated, “This is more than just a race for us; it’s an opportunity to represent our country in front of the world. Seeing that maple leaf drive down the Mulsanne Straight at over 300 km/h will be an incredible honor.” Fidani earned an automatic invitation to Le Mans with his award, reflecting his standing in the previous year’s GTD category.

Fidani will race alongside teammates Matt Bell and Lars Kern. The trio secured the GTD class victory at this year’s Rolex 24 At Daytona—marking the first IMSA GTD win for the new Corvette GT3 platform. Bell approaches Le Mans with experience; this will be his third appearance at the event and his first in the LMGT3 category, following a second-place finish in the 2022 LMP2 Pro-Am class.

To bolster their efforts, AWA will collaborate with TF Sport, a UK-based team that achieved significant success with the Corvette Z06 LMGT3.R, including its first FIA World Endurance Championship win in Qatar earlier this year, and class victories at Le Mans in 2020 and 2022.

As AWA prepares for the grueling 24-hour race, the focus remains on not only competing but also representing Canadian motorsport on an international scale.
