Sarah Bovy Named Grand Marshal for 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans

Le Mans, France — Belgian driver Sarah Bovy will serve as the Grand Marshal for the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, marking a significant recognition for her contributions to endurance racing. Bovy has competed at Le Mans for the past five years as a member of the Iron Dames, achieving her best finish of fourth place in the LMGTE Am category in 2023. Since joining the Iron Dames in 2021, she has won four races and secured 12 pole positions within ACO competition, establishing herself as a fan favorite.

In a notable shift, the Iron Dames are scaling back their motorsport involvement in 2024, leaving Bovy without a racing program for the upcoming season.

The Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) has also revealed additional honors for the 2026 event. David Clark will receive the Spirit of Le Mans trophy for his leadership at JOTA over the last 15 years, during which the team has claimed three LMP2 class victories at Le Mans. Clark previously served as the Director of McLaren Cars, playing a pivotal role in their 1995 Le Mans win.

Additionally, Frédéric Sausset will be recognized as Guest of Honour on the 10th anniversary of his historic entry in 2016, when he became the first quadruple amputee to start and finish the race in a specially adapted Morgan LMP2.

Pierre Fillon, President of the ACO, commented, “The 24 Hours of Le Mans is more than a race. It’s a story of people, passion, purpose, and pushing limits. Thanks to Sarah Bovy, David Clark, and Frédéric Sausset, the 94th running of the race highlights remarkable individuals who embody the spirit of Le Mans and remind us that endurance racing is fundamentally about people.”

The 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans is scheduled for June 10-14, 2026.
