GT3 and GT4 Title Showdown at Donington Decider

The British GT Championship reaches its climax this weekend at Donington Park, where both GT3 and GT4 titles are at stake. With a competitive field of 16 GT3 and 10 GT4 cars, the 2.49-mile GP circuit is set for an intense showdown.

GT3 Championship Status

Charles Dawson and Kiern Jewiss lead the GT3 standings with 155.5 points, holding a 28.5-point advantage over Marvin Kirchhöfer/Morgan Tillbrook (#77 Optimum McLaren) and Giacomo Petrobelli/Jonny Adam (#7 Blackthorn Aston Martin), both tied at 127 points. Dawson, who previously won at Donington, aims to secure the championship, and his victory could mark the first GT3 title for Jewiss.

Kirchhöfer, narrowly missing victory at Brands Hatch, and Adam, chasing his fifth title after a record 20 wins in GT3, remain fierce competitors. Behind them, Maximilian Götz and Kevin Tse complete the title chase with 119 points.

Blackthorn Racing’s additional entry (#22) features defending champion Darren Leung alongside Nick Yelloly, while Barwell Motorsport’s #78 Lamborghini could act as a spoiler, having shown strong performance earlier in the season.

GT4 Championship Dynamics

In the GT4 category, the championship battle narrows to Century Motorsport and Optimum Racing. Ravi Ramyead and Charlie Robertson lead with 182.5 points, only 3.5 points ahead of reigning champions Marc Warren and Jack Brown from Optimum. Century aims for its first title, but Optimum seeks its fourth crown.

The Silver class sees the #17 Optimum duo of Luca Hopkinson and Harry George positioned well after recent successes, despite the fierce competition.

Additional Races and Competitors

Among the debutants in GT3 is Mahiki Racing, fielding a McLaren driven by founder Steven Lake and 19-year-old Josh Miller, who will experience the challenges of traffic and downforce for the first time.

The event also marks an important return for the Spirit of Race #55 Ferrari 296 GT3, aiming for its first win as it prepares for next year’s evolution upgrades that will enhance performance in dirty air.

With multiple titles on the line, the anticipation grows for what’s expected to be a thrilling season finale filled with high stakes and competitive racing at Donington Park.
