HTJ Cadillac’s Strong Lead in Le Mans Preparation
Le Mans, France – The Hertz Team Jota (HTJ) Cadillac outfit has demonstrated promising competitiveness ahead of the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans, with Alex Lynn clocking the fastest time in the Hyperpole qualifying session. The #12 V-Series.R is positioned for a strong performance as the team navigates the challenges of endurance racing.
Key drivers shared insights on their progress and strategies for the iconic race. Earl Bamber (#38) noted, “The car has had mixed fortunes. There are tracks that suit us and others that don’t. However, our recent success at Spa has built our confidence.” Bamber emphasized consistency as critical, stating, “We need to stay in the race and see where we are on Sunday morning.”
Jenson Button, also driving the #38 car, concurred, remarking, “We might not have the outright pace of the leading teams, but we have made adjustments that should enhance our competitiveness.” Button highlighted the importance of collaboration within HTJ, confirming, “We’re working as one team across the Cadillac program, sharing setups and data between crews.”
HTJ’s preparation features four Cadillac V-Series.Rs, a strategy aimed at maximizing their data collection and performance. Bamber added, “Having four cars allows us to gather and analyze substantial information, which enhances our overall competitiveness.”
Will Stevens, transitioning from the Porsche 963 to the Cadillac, commented on the differences in driving dynamics. “While there are technical distinctions, like braking materials and software systems, the fundamentals of driving remain unchanged,” he explained. Stevens noted that adaptability is crucial: “The way we manipulate balance through the steering wheel tools differs significantly, and it requires recalibration.”
With consistent internal goals, Bamber expressed optimism about the season. “We are targeting top five finishes, gradually aiming for the podium,” he stated. “The competition is fierce with renowned manufacturers present, but our trajectory is positive.”
As the team fine-tunes their strategies, Bamber succinctly encapsulated the endurance racing spirit: “Le Mans always chooses you. If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be.” The 24 Hours of Le Mans promises to be a highly competitive event, with HTJ Cadillac poised to make an impactful statement.
