Asian Le Mans Series Titles Decided Amid Red Flag in Abu Dhabi
All three category titles of the Asian Le Mans Series were finalized midway through the 4 Hours of Abu Dhabi following a significant red flag disruption. The race was halted at the 40-minute mark due to a collision between the #25 Algarve Pro Racing ORECA 07-Gibson driven by Michael Jensen and the #15 Kessel Racing Ferrari 296 GT3 operated by Memo Gidley. Both drivers exited their vehicles uninjured after impacting the barrier on Turn 8.
The red flag lasted one hour and ten minutes for barrier repairs, and with the race unable to reach the 75% threshold for full points, only 12.5 points will be awarded for a win. Consequently, the current points leaders have solidified their standings.
LMP2 Championship: The #4 CrowdStrike Racing by APR ORECA 07-Gibson of George Kurtz, Malthe Jakobsen, and Louis Delétraz secured the LMP2 title. This marks Algarve Pro Racing’s sixth teams’ title, while Jakobsen achieves the distinction of being the first driver to claim three consecutive titles in the same division.
LMP3 Championship: CLX Motorsport clinched its second Asian Le Mans Series title with the #17 Ligier JS P325-Toyota driven by Paul Lanchere, Alexander Jacoby, and Kevin Rabin.
GT Championship: Kessel Racing’s #74 Ferrari 296 GT3, piloted by Dustin Blattner, Chris Lulham, and Dennis Marschall, captured the title in the GT category.
As a result, CrowdStrike Racing by APR and Kessel Racing will receive automatic entries to the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMP2 and LMGT3 categories, respectively.
The remainder of the 4 Hours of Abu Dhabi can be accessed live via official streaming platforms.
