New Spectator Footbridge Unveiled at Circuit de la Sarthe Ahead of 2026 Season
Construction on the new spectator footbridge at the Circuit de la Sarthe, located at the exit of the Dunlop Chicane, has been completed, marking a significant upgrade to the iconic racetrack. The bridge, now branded with Goodyear, replaces the historic Dunlop Bridge and was finalized ahead of the 2026 motorsport season.
Goodyear, which continues to provide tires for LMP2 and LMGT3 classes in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, repurposed this key structural element as part of a broader branding initiative after selling its European Dunlop division to Sumitomo Rubber Industries in 2022. The company also sponsors several facilities within the circuit, including the newly renovated grandstand facing the Dunlop Chicane.
Race enthusiasts can anticipate the release of the entry list for the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans shortly, which will feature 62 competing vehicles. This includes 35 full-season entrants from the FIA World Endurance Championship, alongside up to 11 automatic invitees. The remaining spots will be determined by the ACO Selection Committee.
As the event approaches, the newly built bridge promises to enhance the spectator experience during this highly anticipated race.
