Daytona International Speedway Extends Partnership with Rolex
Daytona Beach, FL – Daytona International Speedway has confirmed the long-term extension of its partnership with Rolex, which will remain the Title Sponsor and Official Timepiece of the Rolex 24 At Daytona. This agreement cements Rolex’s integral role in IMSA’s premier endurance race, a collaboration that has flourished for over 70 years. Since becoming the title sponsor in 1992, Rolex has significantly contributed to the evolution of sports car racing.
“We are honored to extend our partnership with Rolex, a company dedicated to Daytona and racing for decades,” stated Daytona International Speedway President Frank Kelleher. The Rolex 24 has emerged as a hallmark event, showcasing elite talents while the iconic Rolex countdown clock measures the race’s intensity.
This announcement coincides with Rolex’s celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Oyster watch, a model that established the brand’s rich motorsport legacy at Daytona Beach. Notably, Sir Malcolm Campbell wore an Oyster during his record-setting 272 mph run in the Bluebird, an achievement that inspired the 1963 creation of the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona.
Luca Bernasconi, President & CEO of Rolex Watch U.S.A., remarked, “Rolex is delighted to continue its long-standing association with the Rolex 24 At Daytona, a race that embodies resilience, precision, and dedication.” He emphasized the unique position of Daytona as both a legendary racing venue and a cornerstone of Rolex’s nearly century-long connection to motorsports.
Rolex will uphold its tradition of honoring significant moments at the circuit, reinforcing its presence at major endurance events worldwide. The Rolex 24 at Daytona continues to be recognized as one of the most esteemed endurance races, along with the 24 Hours of Le Mans, drawing top drivers and teams from around the globe.
Champions of the Rolex 24 will still receive a specially engraved Rolex Daytona timepiece, reflecting the race’s legacy as one of the most coveted trophies in sports car racing.
