Random Vandals Racing has confirmed its return to the GT World Challenge America powered by AWS, fielding a single Pro-Am entry for the 2026 season. The team will feature the #99 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, piloted by veteran Derek DeBoer and reigning Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America Pro champion Hampus Ericsson.
DeBoer, who previously competed for The Racers Group in 2023, brings valuable experience from the FIA World Endurance Championship and the European Le Mans Series, where he secured a third-place finish in the LMGT3 standings. His notable achievements include a debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and a sixth-place finish at the 6 Hours of Spa.
Hampus Ericsson, brother of Indianapolis 500 winner Marcus Ericsson, is fresh off a championship-winning season in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, where he notched six victories in the U.S. and one at the World Final in Misano. This season marks his first foray into GT3 racing, having made his debut at the 12 Hours of Sepang.
Paul Sparta, Team Principal of Random Vandals Racing, expressed optimism about the pairing: “We know how quick and composed Hampus is. We’re going into the season squarely aimed at the Pro-Am Championship.”
Random Vandals Racing had previously clinched the GT World Challenge America Pro title with drivers Kenton Koch and Connor De Phillippi and also excelled in the Pirelli GT4 America series.
Despite an anticipated entry into the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s GTD PRO class that did not materialize, the team remains committed to its full-time presence in both the IMSA and SRO America paddocks.
DeBoer commented on his return: “SRO is where my professional career took shape… Coming back feels right and like coming home.” Ericsson echoed this sentiment, stating, “This truly feels like the right step in my career… I can’t wait to hit the track!”
As both drivers prepare for the upcoming season, anticipation grows for what this accomplished duo can achieve together on the circuit.
