Pipo Derani Exits ELMS, Focus Shifts to WEC with Genesis Magma Racing
In a significant development for the European Le Mans Series (ELMS), Brazilian driver Pipo Derani has concluded his tenure with CLX Motorsport as he pivots to focus on Genesis Magma Racing’s upcoming FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) campaign slated for 2026.
CLX Motorsport confirmed Derani’s departure in an official announcement today, expressing gratitude for his contributions during the first half of the season. "We’d like to thank Pipo Derani for his dedication and performance," the statement read.
During his time with CLX, Derani shared the #47 ORECA 07 alongside teammates Enzo Fittipaldi and Manuel Espirito Santo. The team’s highlight was a third-place finish at the 4 Hours of Le Castellet in May. With Derani’s exit, CLX has not yet named a replacement as they gear up for the upcoming 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on August 24.
Derani’s full attention will now be on the development and preparation for Genesis’s GMR-001 Hypercar debut in the WEC. As the motorsports landscape evolves, the focus will remain on how this shift impacts both Derani’s career trajectory and CLX Motorsport’s performance in the remainder of the ELMS season.
