Duqueine Team Partners with R-ace GP for LMP2 Program
Duqueine Team has officially announced its partnership with R-ace GP for the operational management of its LMP2 program, aiming to bolster performance after two challenging seasons. This collaboration comes on the heels of Duqueine’s notable podium finish at the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans, marking its high point since debuting in LMP2 in 2018.
Over the past two years, the team has struggled, finishing 13th in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) for two consecutive seasons and missing an entry at last year’s Le Mans. Additionally, Duqueine supported the short-lived Isotta Fraschini FIA WEC Hypercar initiative during this period.
Looking ahead, Duqueine will transition to LMP2 Pro/Am for the 2026 season. The team has announced drivers Giorgio Roda, a qualifying specialist, and Richard Verschoor, a Formula 2 race winner.
Gilles Duqueine emphasized the necessity of this partnership, stating, “We needed a partner capable of meeting ambitious objectives within a controlled framework. Thibaut de MéRindol and his team embody this culture of excellence, combining rigor with a constant quest for performance.”
R-ace GP is currently the leading customer in LMP3 for Duqueine, having finished second in the Michelin Le Mans Cup in 2024 and clinching the title in 2025 with three consecutive victories. The outfit is set to make its ELMS debut this season as Duqueine’s sole representative in LMP3, while also entering the LMP2 arena in 2026.
Thibaut de MéRindol expressed confidence in the partnership, noting, “It was only natural that the idea of an association with the aim of creating an ambitious LMP2 program was born. Duqueine Team is a fantastic project for R-ace GP, and we are committed to putting all our motor racing expertise at its service.”
The 2026 European Le Mans Series is scheduled to commence at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from April 10 to 12, 2026.
