Dubai Autodrome Free Practice 2 Results: ARC Bratislava Leads the Field
In the second free practice session of the Asian Le Mans Series at the Dubai Autodrome, ARC Bratislava’s Yann Ehrlacher posted a dominant time of 1:48.418 aboard the #44 ORECA 07 – Gibson, establishing a substantial lead ahead of the competition.
Ten minutes into the 90-minute session, Ehrlacher’s lap placed him more than one second clear of other competitors. Despite quick responses from United Autosports’ Mikkel Jensen and RD Limited’s James Allen, who clocked 1:48.663 and 1:48.680 respectively, they could not surpass Ehrlacher’s performance, finishing second and third, just a fraction behind.
Antonio Fuoco of Cetilar Racing claimed the fourth fastest time with a 1:48.868 in the #47 ORECA, followed by entries from DKR Engineering and Nielsen Racing.
In the LMP3 category, Matteo Quintarelli secured the top position with a late lap of 1:58.467 in the #23 23Events Racing Ligier JS P325 – Toyota. He narrowly edged out Paul Lanchere of CLX Motorsport by 0.019 seconds, while teammate Matus Ryba rounded out the top three.
GT Times were led by Giacomo Petrobelli in the #56 Ecurie Ecosse Blackthorn Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo, who recorded a time of 2:00.627. Abdulla Ali Al-Khelaifi followed closely in second in GetSpeed’s #37 Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO, while Steven Jans secured third in the #9 Mercedes-AMG, making it a strong outing for Bronze-rated drivers.
With all 46 cars completing at least 30 laps without interruption, the session showcased competitive spirit and technical prowess ahead of tomorrow’s qualifying at 9:40 GST (5:40 UTC), followed by Race 1 at 14:10 GST.
