Enzo Trulli, at just 20 years old, has been selected as the Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Selected Driver for 2026. The Italian, son of former Formula 1 driver Jarno Trulli, succeeds Dorian Boccolacci in this prestigious role.
Trulli’s ascent follows a promising debut season in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, where he achieved a remarkable pole position and victory in the opening race at Shanghai International Circuit. He concluded the season as top rookie, securing second place in the drivers’ championship, making him the youngest individual to hold the role since its inception.
“I’m delighted to become the new Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Selected Driver for 2026,” Trulli expressed. “My experience in the Carrera Cup has been invaluable, and I look forward to building on it next season.”
The Selected Driver program provides financial backing, physical training, marketing support, and mentorship from Sascha Maassen, a two-time 24 Hours of Le Mans class winner.
Upcoming plans for Trulli include his debut in the Asian Le Mans Series with Algarve Pro Racing, piloting an ORECA 07–Gibson LMP2. He is also expected to race Porsche GT machinery both in the Asia Pacific region and internationally.
Boccolacci, the previous Selected Driver, has been elevated to an official Porsche contracted driver role following his successful tenure. He has competed extensively in 911 GT3 R machinery across various competitive platforms, including the GT World Challenge Europe and the FIA GT World Cup.
“I’m proud of my progress this year and excited to transition into my role as a Porsche Driver,” Boccolacci stated. “The support I’ve received has been pivotal to my growth as a driver.”
Maassen commented on the program’s success, noting that Boccolacci’s development path is a testament to its efficacy. He expressed enthusiasm for the ambitious plans in place for Trulli in the upcoming season.
Details regarding the specific race programs for both drivers in 2026 remain unannounced.
