Alpine Endurance Team Prepares for FIA WEC Season Finale

Bahrain, November 8, 2025 – After clinching its inaugural victory at the 6 Hours of Fuji in September, Alpine Endurance Team arrives in Bahrain for the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) finale with momentum on its side. The team’s A424 Hypercar, featuring a 3.4-litre V6 engine, is positioned for continued improvement as it prepares for the 8 Hours of Bahrain.

The A424 has advanced in its second competitive year, demonstrating significant progress since post-Le Mans 2024. Alpine is set to implement a new aerodynamic package as part of a broader strategy to enhance performance following the introduction of a two-stage Balance of Performance (BoP) adjustment, which aims to optimize top speed. Alpine Motorsports Vice President Bruno Famin confirmed, “We will use the opportunity to homologate a new aero package. The goal is to gain more downforce without changing the car’s visual appearance significantly.”

The updated A424 has already undergone wind tunnel testing and will see further on-track evaluation before winter homologation. While the revisions might not be as pronounced as those seen in rival teams like BMW and Toyota, subtle enhancements are expected to be visually distinguishable.

In terms of personnel, Alpine’s driver lineup for 2026 remains a topic of speculation. Famin has acknowledged the ongoing changes in the driver market, with Antonio Félix da Costa being the only confirmed signing so far. “We still have questions to answer,” he noted, particularly regarding the status of driver Mick Schumacher.

Looking back at the 2025 WEC season, Alpine’s performance has exceeded expectations with a recent victory at Fuji that placed it fifth in the Manufacturers’ Championship, now within reach of Toyota for fourth. Famin emphasized the importance of consistency in results, stating, “This weekend, we can finish fourth or seventh in the championship. Three podiums and one win are much more significant.”

The season finale, the 8 Hours of Bahrain, begins at 14:00 AST on Saturday, marking a critical juncture for Alpine as it aims to solidify its competitive standing ahead of 2026.
