Felbermayr Legacy Returns to LMP2 in Asian Le Mans Series
The Felbermayr family, synonymous with success in motorsport, will return to the grid as they enter the 2025/26 Asian Le Mans Series. The iconic blue colors of Felbermayr will feature on an LMP2 entry for the first time, with Horst Felbermayr Jr. and his son, Horst Felix Felbermayr, making their series debut in the #88 Proton Competition ORECA 07 – Gibson.
The duo will share driving duties with Lorenzo Fluxa at the season opener from December 12 to 14 at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. This marks a significant return for the Felbermayrs, who previously achieved remarkable success in GT2 racing during the 2000s, including multiple titles at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and FIA WEC events.
After stepping away from full-time racing at the close of the 2011 season, the family returned to the sport following the passing of Horst Felbermayr Sr. in 2020. Recent performances include participation in the Michelin Le Mans Cup and the European Le Mans Series, where they competed in LMP3 and GT3 categories respectively.
The re-entry of the Felbermayr name in LMP2 signifies a resurgence of a well-regarded legacy in endurance racing, setting the stage for the Asian Le Mans Series.
