2025/2026 Asian Le Mans Series Set to Commence at Sepang

The 2025/2026 Asian Le Mans Series kicks off this weekend at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. Following logistics challenges, all participating cars were confirmed on-site by Wednesday morning.

LMP2 Highlights

Prominent entrants include Japan’s Ponos Racing, which is making its LMP2 debut with the #45 Oreca 07 Gibson adorned in ‘Battle Cats’ branding. Proton Competition fields two cars, the #22 in a matte green livery, and the #88 honoring the Felbermayr family legacy. A last-minute driver change sees Bernardo Sousa replacing Stefan Aust due to the latter’s injury from a recent crash.

Returning squad RD Limited aims to defend their victory from last year with the #30 Oreca. High Class Racing participates with a notable lineup featuring experienced drivers Jens Reno Moller and Gustavo Menezes, who resumes a prototype role.

Also notable is Cetilar Racing’s re-entry with an Oreca for the Asian LMS season. United Autosports fields three cars, highlighting their revised livery strategy. ARC Bratislava returns with their familiar Oreca, continuing their presence in the Asian series.

LMP3 Developments

The #1 entry from Team Virage features Indian drivers Narain Karthikeyan alongside Tamil film star Ajith Kumar, promising significant media attention and fan engagement, as evidenced by packed hotel receptions. Team Virage’s Julien Gerbi has also been added to the driving roster.
