Gomersall and Miedecke Motorsport Gear Up for 2026 GT4 Australia Season
PHILLIP ISLAND, AUSTRALIA — Gomersall Motorsport and Miedecke Motorsport have formalized their plans for the 2026 GT4 Australia season, both opting for Ford Mustang GT4 entries. The competition is set to ignite during the GT Festival at Phillip Island from March 27 to 29.
Gomersall Motorsport has retained its driver lineup, featuring Jake Camilleri and Glenn Walker in the Silver and Am categories, respectively. Reigning champions Aaron Seton and Jason Gomersall round out the team’s roster. Camilleri, who transitioned to the Mustang mid-season last year, secured a race victory in his debut at Sandown Raceway.
“My goal is to be in contention for the class title,” said Camilleri. “That comes down to more podiums and consistency.” He emphasized the importance of improving his qualifying performance to mitigate risks associated with mid-pack battles.
Walker, reflecting on his rookie season with Gomersall, stated, “This year is going to be a learning curve with the Mustang.” He underscored his commitment to consistency and finishing races as key focus areas for the upcoming season.
Miedecke Motorsport, supported by Ford Racing, is expanding to a two-car operation. Two-time Silver drivers’ championship runner-up George Miedecke aims for success with rookie Blake Tracey, who previously excelled in Trans Am. They will share one Mustang GT4, while the second car will be driven by Cooper Cutts and Blake Dowdall, both reigning champions from their respective series.
Miedecke highlighted the importance of nurturing young talent within the team: “Finding and developing the next generation… is a big part of Miedecke Motorsport’s identity.”
The 2026 Monochrome GT4 Australia season promises to deliver competitive racing, showcasing emerging talents and established drivers alike. With strong lineups and the formidable Mustang GT4, both teams are poised for an exciting campaign ahead.
