Mercedes-AMG Targets Victory at Nürburgring 24 Hours
Pflanzgarten, Germany – Mercedes-AMG is poised for a resurgence at the Nürburgring 24 Hours with two AMG GT3 entries from Team GetSpeed, aiming for its first overall victory at the event since 2016. The race, scheduled for the weekend following the Le Mans 24 Hours, will see both cars compete in the premier SP9 PRO category.
Driver Line-Up and Technical Details
The #14 car, featuring a striking Bilstein livery, will be piloted by experienced drivers Maro Engel, Maxime Martin, Fabian Schiller, and Luca Stolz. In contrast, the #17 car, adorned in the "PRPL Beast" design, will be driven by Ralf Aron, Lucas Auer, Adam Christodoulou, and Mikaël Grenier. The design pays homage to the legendary "Beast of the Green Hell."
Christoph Sagemüller, head of Mercedes-AMG Motorsport, emphasized the team’s ambition: “We have repeatedly proven our competitiveness with our Mercedes-AMG GT3, strong driver line-ups, and well-thought-out race strategies. It has been nine years since our last overall victory – it is time to change that."
Additionally, Team SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm will bolster AMG’s roster, entering a Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the SP9 PRO-AM class and an AMG GT4 in SP10. The GT3 #11 will feature drivers Kenneth Heyer, Jannes Fittje, and Jay Mo Härtling, with a fourth driver to be confirmed. The GT4 lineup includes Tim Neuser, Reinhold Renger, David Thilenius, and Guido Wirtz.

The Nürburgring 24 Hours, known for its demanding course, remains a significant challenge, especially with the proximity of major endurance races like Le Mans and Spa.
