Ginetta Announces One-Make Series in 2026 GT America Powered by AWS

Ginetta has confirmed its entry into the 2026 GT America powered by AWS series, launching a dedicated one-make championship for its V8-powered G56 GTP8 race car. This strategic move was announced ahead of the GT America finale at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where the GTP8 is currently on display.

This initiative reflects Ginetta’s expanding footprint in North America, following the successful Ginetta Challenge North America series that debuted in 2024 alongside the SVRA SpeedTour. “Bringing our V8 to the United States marks an exciting new chapter for Ginetta,” said Mike Simpson, Chief Executive of Ginetta Motorsport. He emphasized, “SRO GT America is the perfect stage to showcase this car, which blends raw performance and accessibility with proven engineering.”

The introduction of the GTP8 offers both existing customers and new teams the opportunity to elevate their participation in GT racing. Additionally, it intends to bolster the GT America championship, particularly as participation has declined in recent seasons. SRO Motorsports America President Greg Gill remarked, “We’re thrilled to welcome Ginetta and the GTP8 to the SRO America paddock. Their arrival marks an exciting step forward in broadening opportunities for North American drivers and teams.”

Ginetta established its North American headquarters in South Boston, Virginia, in 2021, in partnership with TMI Autotech. The company has a history of fostering talent, with alumni such as Lando Norris, Jamie Chadwick, and Isack Hadjar advancing to elite series including Formula 1, IndyCar, and IMSA.

As the 2026 season approaches, Ginetta’s commitment to delivering accessible, competitive racing could reinvigorate the GT America series and provide a robust platform for aspiring drivers and teams.
