Grasser Racing to Defend 24 Hours of Spa Title with New Lamborghini Temerario GT3
Grasser Racing, the reigning champions of the 24 Hours of Spa, has confirmed its participation in the event this year with the new Lamborghini Temerario GT3. Competing under the ‘TGI Team GRT’ banner, the team will field the #163 car in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup.
The driver lineup features Lamborghini factory pilots Mirko Bortolotti, Franck Perera, and Maximilian Paul. Bortolotti, who won the DTM drivers’ championship in 2024, has been with Grasser since the inception of Lamborghini’s GT3 program in 2015 and was part of the victorious Spa team alongside Jordan Pepper and Luca Engstler last year. Paul, a recent Lamborghini factory driver, secured Grasser’s first DTM victory in 2023, while Perera returns to the team after a single season with VSR.
Grasser Racing’s victory at the 2023 24 Hours of Spa marked a historic moment as Lamborghini’s first win at the iconic endurance race. The team also competed strongly in the DTM and GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup, achieving wins in both series.
The Lamborghini Temerario GT3 is set to make its competitive debut this season, with Grasser racing alongside Rutronik Racing, the current teams’ champion, in the GT World Challenge. Other teams confirmed to race the Temerario include VSR in the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup and Pfaff Motorsports in the IMSA Sportscar Championship.
Team principal Gottfried Grasser emphasized the importance of the new car, stating, “With the Temerario GT3, Lamborghini has designed a state-of-the-art, latest-generation GT3 car. We are confident of good results from the outset.”
Grasser also expressed high expectations for the driver lineup, highlighting the strong history and camaraderie among the individuals. “We have been close friends with all of our drivers for years… Mirko is integral to our success, and Max, as our team’s first DTM winner, along with Franck, rounds out our team for the Endurance Cup,” Grasser noted.
The 2024 season is positioned as a significant challenge for Grasser Racing, as they look to continue their success in both the DTM and the enduring competitions of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup.
