Herberth Motorsport Clinches Michelin 6H Abu Dhabi Victory Amid Chaos

Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi – Herberth Motorsport triumphed in the Michelin 6H Abu Dhabi, capitalizing on a tumultuous race characterized by 14 Code 60 caution periods that totaled over two hours. The #10 Porsche 911 GT3 R, driven by Loek Hartog, Antares Au, and debutant Huub van Eijndhoven, secured victory, demonstrating strategic prowess amidst challenging conditions.

Hartog started fourth on the grid and quickly moved to the lead by Turn 1, maintaining a strong presence throughout. In the final stint, he managed fuel consumption to extend the Porsche’s running time for nearly 100 minutes, crossing the finish line nearly a lap ahead of the #669 Team WRT BMW M4 GT3 Evo driven by Parker Thompson. However, a post-race time penalty reduced the margin to 41 seconds.

“This was a team victory,” Hartog stated after the race. “We had so many Code 60s that we could finish with the fuel we had.”

Au echoed the sentiment: “It’s all about the people. We have a great team. This was Huub’s first GT3 race, and it’s a good step forward.”

This victory positions Herberth Motorsport at the top of the GT3 Teams’ championship in the 24H Series’ Middle East Trophy, with Hartog and Au leading the drivers’ championship ahead of the final race.

The podium was rounded out by Thompson, Anthony McIntosh, and Dan Harper in second, while Axcil Jefferies, Stuart White, and Xollie Letlaka secured third in the Into Africa Racing by Dragon Ferrari 296 GT3. The #21 HAAS RT Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II claimed GT3 AM honors despite finishing fourth on the track due to time penalties.

In other categories, the #974 QMMF by HRT Performance team won in the 992 class, finishing just 20 seconds ahead of the #888 Seblajoux Racing Porsche. Cerny Motorsport took GT4 honors, while Vortex V8 triumphed in GTX, completing seven more laps than their nearest competitor.

The event sees the conclusion of the 2025/26 24H Series Middle East Trophy next weekend at the Dubai 24 Hour, scheduled for January 16-18, 2026.
