Genesis Magma Racing Expands Trajectory Programme with New Driver Line-Up for ELMS
November 2023 – Genesis Magma Racing has officially confirmed the addition of Valerio Rinicella and Laurents Hörr to its Trajectory Programme for the upcoming European Le Mans Series (ELMS). The duo will pilot the #18 ORECA 07 – Gibson LMP2 alongside returning driver Jamie Chadwick, who has been with the initiative for a second consecutive season.
Rinicella, the 2024/25 Asian Le Mans Series LMP2 drivers’ champion, is poised to make his ELMS debut, building on his experience from last year’s Road to Le Mans event. “Being part of the Genesis Magma Racing Trajectory Programme is an incredible feeling,” stated Rinicella. “It’s a great opportunity to learn and grow in the right environment.”
Hörr, 28, arrives with a wealth of LMP2 experience, having driven consistently in the category for three years, including a stint with IDEC Sport in 2023. He recently secured a podium in the LMP2 Pro/Am class at the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans. “It’s a massive step forward in my career,” Hörr remarked, highlighting the advantageous blend of youth and experience within the team.
The Trajectory Programme aims for enhanced driver development, building upon a successful 2023 season that saw the previous line-up secure three race wins and a third-place finish in the championship. This year’s expanded roster comprises Rinicella, Hörr, and Chadwick, alongside emerging Korean talents Michael Shin and Kyuho Lee.
IDEC Sport Team Principal Nicolas Minassian expressed optimism about the collaboration, emphasizing the team’s commitment to nurturing young talent. “Supporting the development of young drivers is integral to our mission,” he noted.
Sporting Director Gabriele Tarquini echoed this sentiment, underscoring the potential shown by the new recruits across various racing disciplines and their collaborative promise with IDEC Sport.
The 2026 European Le Mans Series is set to kick off at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from April 10-12, 2026.
