Jamie Chadwick Named Reserve Driver for Genesis Magma Racing’s 2026 FIA WEC Campaign

Jamie Chadwick has been appointed as the Reserve Driver for Genesis Magma Racing as the team prepares for its inaugural FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season in 2026. This announcement follows Chadwick’s recent test in the GMR-001 Hypercar at Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours.

Chadwick, a standout in the Genesis Magma Racing Trajectory Programme, showcased her skills during the European Le Mans Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, contributing to the team’s three LMP2 wins, two of which were outright, and securing third place in the drivers’ championship.

Her first experience in the GMR-001, powered by a 3.2L V8 engine, featured a three-day test session where she shared driving duties with established pilots Mathys Jaubert, Daniel Juncadella, Pipo Derani, and André Lotterer across various weather conditions. Chadwick expressed her excitement, stating, “It’s a really impressive car and so fast in a straight line… It’s a super car to drive.”

Chadwick emphasized the significance of her role: “It’s hugely special to be involved in the development of the GMR-001 Hypercar. Becoming a Reserve Driver is one step closer to my ultimate goal, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the team’s success.”

Gabriele Tarquini, Sporting Director of Genesis Magma Racing, praised Chadwick’s contributions, noting her positive feedback and potential impact on the team’s development efforts. He highlighted the importance of having fresh perspectives during testing and the enthusiasm she exhibited during her initial laps.

The Genesis GMR-001 is set to make its competitive debut at the Qatar 1812KM, the opening race of the 2026 FIA WEC, scheduled for March 26-28, 2026.
