Lamborghini Squadra Corse Announces 2026 SUPER GT Driver Line-Up
Lamborghini Squadra Corse has finalized its driver roster for the 2026 Autobacs SUPER GT Series, highlighted by the addition of factory driver Daniil Kvyat to JLOC’s flagship #88 Venteny Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2. Kvyat will partner with Takashi Kogure, a seasoned driver with a championship legacy, as he enters his eighth season with the team.
Kogure, who shared the 2024 GT300 title with former teammate Yuya Motojima, has proven instrumental in JLOC’s recent successes, securing the team’s first SUPER GT championship in 2024. Motojima will now move to the #87 Metalive S Lamborghini GT3, joining veteran Kosuke Matsuura, who brings extensive experience to the pairing.
Natsu Sakaguchi, previously a co-driver for Matsuura, continues with JLOC as a reserve driver and is set to test the #88 car during the first official preseason tests at Okayama International Circuit on March 6-7. Joining him as a reserve is 2023 GT300 Champion Kohta Kawaai, who has not raced in SUPER GT since his title win but has spent the intervening period competing mainly in the Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie (NLS).
Key engineering appointments reinforce JLOC’s ambitions for the season. Hitoshi Iyoki returns as Chief Engineer for the #88 entry after successfully leading the team to championship victory in 2024, while the #87 car will be overseen by Yasuhiro Tasaka, under the management of Junji Ohta.
As the new season draws closer, JLOC’s strategic moves signal its intent to maintain a competitive edge in the SUPER GT landscape.
