Kenton Koch Parts Ways with Team Korthoff Ahead of IMSA Championship Finale

In a significant shift in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Kenton Koch and Team Korthoff have mutually agreed to part ways with four races remaining in the season. Koch announced the decision via social media, emphasizing a cordial separation, stating, “There’s absolutely no hard feelings…the circumstances that led to the team and I’s decision was really no one’s fault.”

Koch’s tenure with the team included a notable podium finish, securing third place in the GTD category at the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen in June, marking his last race in the #32 Mercedes-AMG GT3. The team did not compete in the subsequent event at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (CTMP).

Reflecting on his time with Team Korthoff, Koch remarked, “Watkins was a perfect example of the men and women that make the team phenomenal. Grit and determination with precision is what got us that podium.” He first joined the team as a Michelin Endurance Cup driver in 2023 and transitioned to a full-time role, contributing to the team’s first IMSA win at Virginia International Raceway in 2024.

Currently, Koch leads the GT World Challenge America Pro and GT4 America Silver championships with Random Vandals Racing. He recently competed for Triarsi Competizione at CTMP, finishing seventh in his debut for the Ferrari customer team, as Team Korthoff sat out the race.

Following the departure of co-driver Seth Lucas before Watkins Glen, DSC has reached out to Team Korthoff for official comments regarding the future direction of the team.
