Daniil Kvyat to Compete in SUPER GT with JLOC in 2026

Lamborghini Squadra Corse factory driver Daniil Kvyat will race for JLOC (Japan Lamborghini Owners Club) in the 2026 Autobacs SUPER GT Series. This marks Kvyat’s first venture into GT3 racing following his tenure in prototypes with the Lamborghini SC63 in the FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The SC63 program will be on hiatus next year, prompting Kvyat’s switch.

Kvyat, who has a history of 110 Formula One starts from 2014 to 2020, expressed enthusiasm about the move: “I have always had great times in Japan and enjoyed racing there. So to dive deeper into Japanese racing culture is great! Can’t wait to start,” he stated in a social media post.

JLOC has a long-established presence in motorsport, notably capturing its first SUPER GT/JGTC title in 2024. However, the team encountered a challenging 2025 season, securing only one podium finish—a third place at Autopolis.

This will be the first instance of a factory driver from Lamborghini partnering with JLOC since Marco Mapelli in 2018. The team will campaign two Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2s, the last major competitive season for this V10-powered model, before transitioning to the new Lamborghini Temerario GT3 in select European and North American championships next year. The detailed driver lineup for JLOC will be confirmed in due time.

Key Details:

  • Driver: Daniil Kvyat
  • Team: JLOC
  • Series: Autobacs SUPER GT
  • Car: Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2
  • Notable History: First factory driver for JLOC since 2018
  • 2025 Performance: One podium finish (third place at Autopolis)

This announcement marks a significant shift in Kvyat’s career and places him in the spotlight of Japanese motorsport, while JLOC aims for a resurgence following a lackluster 2025 season.
