Lamborghini Claims Historic Victory at 2025 Spa 24 Hours
In a landmark achievement, Lamborghini secured its first victory at the prestigious 24 Hours of Spa on October 1, 2025, as the #63 GRT – Grasser Racing Team Huracán GT3 Evo2 triumphed in a gripping race. Drivers Mirko Bortolotti, Luca Engstler, and Jordan Pepper led the field after a nail-biting final stint, overcoming a history of near misses, with the previous best result being fifth place in 2024.
“This race has been circled for Lamborghini,” Pepper stated post-race. “I’m extremely proud to be part of this victory. It’s a testament to the team and my co-drivers; endurance racing truly is a team sport.”
Pepper reflected on his journey, highlighting the significance of Spa in his career and personal life. “It kick-started my career, and to win here feels surreal after so many challenges. The emotions flowing when we crossed the finish line were nine years in the making,” he remarked.
The race unfolded under intense conditions, with 75 GT3 cars on the grid, making traffic management critical. "No real points of rest make Spa physically demanding, and it’s increasingly mentally taxing,” Pepper noted, emphasizing the competition’s ferocity.
Close Contenders and Podium Positions
Rutronik Racing’s Patric Niederhauser finished second in the #96 Porsche 911 GT3.R, just 15 seconds behind. Reflecting on his experience, Niederhauser described the race as one marked by strong teamwork and strategic execution: “We didn’t have outright pace to win, but everyone maximized their roles perfectly.”
Completing the podium was the #51 AF Corse – Francorchamps Motors Ferrari 296 GT3, driven by Alessandro Pier Guidi, who expressed satisfaction despite finishing third. “Considering our starting position, the podium is a solid result. Luck played a role, but our team executed well.”
The victory not only marks a notable chapter for Lamborghini but also highlights the relentless competitiveness of GT racing. The next challenge awaits for all teams as they prepare for the upcoming circuits, with rivals eager to reclaim the top spot in future endurance events.
