Final 24 Hours of Le Mans Invitations Awarded Following Asian Le Mans Series
The 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans grid is taking shape as the final automatic invitations were confirmed after the conclusion of the Asian Le Mans Series (AsLMS) this weekend. The highly competitive 62-car field will be supplemented by selections from the ACO’s Selection Committee.
Key Invitations: LMP2 and LMGT3 Categories
CrowdStrike Racing by APR emerged as the AsLMS LMP2 champion, securing the sixth LMP2 invite alongside other notable teams such as VDS Panis Racing, Inter Europol Competition, AO by TF, CLX Motorsport, and P.J. Hyett. CrowdStrike Racing achieved three victories during the season and completed every race in the top three, except for one finish off the podium in the finale.
In the GT category, Kessel Racing claimed the AsLMS GT title, earning a second automatic invitation for the LMGT3 class. This follows their prior invitation as the top Bronze Cup entrant in the 2025 GT World Challenge Europe, marking their sixth appearance at Le Mans.
Additional Notes on Invitations
Other teams receiving LMGT3 invites include TF Sport and Orey Fidani, who plans to utilize his invitation with the 13 Motorsports team, competing in a Corvette Z06 LMGT3.R.
The final potential invitation for the Hypercar category is reserved for IMSA at large; however, sources indicate it is unlikely to be awarded as Porsche Penske Motorsport, the 2025 GTP championship-winning team, is ineligible due to the manufacturer’s withdrawal from Hypercar racing.
