Le Mans Museum to Transition into M24 – Motorsport Museum by 2026

The Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) has announced that the Le Mans Museum will be rebranded as the M24 – Motorsport Museum, set to reopen on May 28, 2026. This redevelopment marks the museum’s second major transformation since its establishment in 1961 at the Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans.

The new M24 will feature two distinct sections: one dedicated to the rich history of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the other to a wider range of motorsport disciplines. A key objective of this redesign is to create a more immersive and interactive visitor experience, supported by the addition of new facilities for conferences and events.

Upon reopening, M24 expects to display over 120 vehicles along with various artifacts, aiming to attract more than 300,000 visitors annually. Prominent partners such as Rolex, Goodyear, CA Mobility, and Michelin will feature prominently throughout the museum.

ACO President Pierre Fillon emphasized the museum’s evolution: “M24 responds to two facts: our heritage is absolutely unique, and today’s visitors expect something different. They want to understand and feel what it was like; they want to be part of a story.”

Richard Mille, a key partner in the redevelopment, stated: “Le Mans is not just a race. It’s a living legend. M24 will not look on the past with nostalgia but with ambition.” He articulated the vision to tell compelling stories through the museum’s exhibits, stimulating curiosity and inspiring future generations.

This ambitious project positions M24 at the intersection of heritage and innovation, aiming to engage visitors and foster a deeper connection to motorsport history.
