Ligier Automotive Extends Partnership with Le Mans Endurance Management for European Series

Ligier Automotive and Le Mans Endurance Management have officially renewed their partnership, ensuring that the Ligier European Series will remain part of the European Le Mans Series support package through the end of 2028. This collaboration aims to promote the development of emerging endurance racing talents.

Since its launch in 2020, the Ligier European Series has flourished, recently reaching a record 26-car grid in 2025. The series has gained recognition for its role as a stepping stone for teams and drivers in the endurance racing landscape. Notably, it featured prominently on the full Circuit de la Sarthe, offering participants a unique opportunity to compete alongside prestigious events like the Le Mans Test Day.

In 2025, eight drivers who previously participated in the Ligier European Series raced during the Road to Le Mans events, with two achieving podium finishes, exemplifying the series’ effectiveness in fostering talent.

Key to this development framework is Ligier’s robust prize system. The JS P4 champion(s) are awarded €150,000 to compete in the Michelin Le Mans Cup with the new Ligier JS P325, while JS2 R champion(s) receive €100,000 to advance within the JS P4 category.

One standout success story is Gillian Henrion, who secured the JS P4 title in 2022. Leveraging the prize funds, he moved to the Michelin Le Mans Cup, clinching the LMP3 championship in 2023. Henrion’s trajectory continued with participation in the European Le Mans Series and selection for the WEC Rookie Test in 2024, showcasing the series’ commitment to career progression.

Jacques Nicolet, President of Ligier Automotive, stated, “The Ligier European Series was born from a shared vision… to develop the future stars of endurance racing. This renewed partnership reflects our commitment to building a strong pathway connected to ACO-sanctioned series.”

Frédéric Lequien, CEO of Le Mans Endurance Management, added, “The Ligier European Series has established itself as a reference championship… and we are delighted to extend our collaboration with Ligier Automotive for three more seasons.”

This renewed partnership signifies a continued investment in the future of endurance racing, reinforcing the Ligier European Series as a vital platform for talent development.
