Long-Term Agreement Secures Future of Bathurst 12 Hour

A new long-term agreement between Event Promoter Supercars and the Bathurst Regional Council has secured the future of the Bathurst 12 Hour, ensuring stability for at least another decade. The 2026 edition will mark the 10th under Supercars’ management, with dates to be confirmed soon.

The event drew over 50,000 attendees this year, breaking records with more than 2,600 campsites sold. Event director Shane Rudzis emphasized the significant growth since their collaboration began in 2016, stating, “Bathurst and the Mountain are iconic globally… Having a long-term commitment is exciting for both parties.”

Ben Fry, Acting Mayor of Bathurst Regional Council, noted the event’s importance to the local economy, calling it a “shot of economic espresso for Bathurst” following January’s quiet period. He highlighted the international prestige of Mount Panorama, comparing it to renowned circuits like Spa and Suzuka.

While the announcement did not address SRO and the Intercontinental GT Challenge, there are currently no expected changes to the event’s format, status, or timing. Further details are anticipated in an SRO press conference later today at Spa.
