Magnus Racing Prepares for 2026 Rolex 24 at Daytona with New Addition Madison Snow

Magnus Racing is set to return to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s GTD category for the 2026 Rolex 24 at Daytona, enhancing its lineup with veteran driver Madison Snow. With the race just over six weeks away, this strategic addition is expected to bolster the team’s competitive edge.

Team Insights and Driver Background

John Potter, team owner and driver, expressed enthusiasm about Snow’s inclusion. “We’re excited to add Madison Snow to our lineup for 2026,” he stated. Snow, a seasoned driver with a formidable record of seven series championships and 15 wins, is well-acquainted with endurance racing, having previously triumphed at prestigious events like the Rolex 24 at Daytona, 12 Hours of Sebring, and Petit Le Mans.

Snow joins Potter, Spencer Pumpelly, and Aston Martin factory driver Nicki Thiim in the #44 Aston Martin Vantage GT3. Notably, this quartet has achieved a combined total of 5.5 victories at the Rolex 24, further complemented by success in other endurance races like Sebring and the 24 Hours of Spa.

Snow’s Perspective

Reflecting on his new role, Snow commented, “Even though I’ve competed against Magnus Racing for my entire career, this feels like a group I’ve known forever.” His familiarity with both the team dynamics and fellow drivers, particularly Potter and Pumpelly, adds a layer of cohesiveness poised to enhance their performance in 2026.

Veteran Drivers’ Optimism

Pumpelly, who has won the Daytona race 2.5 times, noted the competitiveness of this year’s GTD field, acknowledging its increasing strength. He cited recent misfortunes — a multi-car pileup in 2024 and an engine failure in 2025 — highlighting the team’s resilience and optimism for a turnaround in conditions this season.

Thiam, despite not yet claiming victory at Daytona, emphasized the team’s enduring spirit and competitiveness. His humorous yet cryptic remark about his Danish heritage signifies the camaraderie that runs deep within the team.

Looking Ahead

As the Rolex 24 at Daytona approaches, Magnus Racing has outlined its commitment to a selective endurance schedule beyond the iconic race, with plans for future partnerships and opportunities for additional participants throughout the season.

Event Schedule

Practice sessions are slated to commence on January 22, leading up to the race weekend of January 24-25, 2026, marking an exciting chapter for Magnus Racing and its newly fortified lineup.
