Mahiki Racing Withdraws from British GT Championship Finale Following Testing Incident
Mahiki Racing has announced the withdrawal of its #68 McLaren GT3 Evo from the British GT Championship finale at Donington Park after a significant incident occurred during the final pre-event test session on October 2.
During the third and final practice session, Josh Miller, who transitioned from driving a Ginetta G56 GT4 Evo, lost control of the McLaren at the challenging Hollywood corner, resulting in the car becoming damaged. The ensuing incident also affected Phil Keen in the #12 Team Parker Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4, causing damage to the left-rear of his vehicle, which is currently undergoing repairs.
In an official statement via Instagram, Miller expressed regret, stating, “A mistake from me in practice yesterday means we will unfortunately be unable to take part in this weekend’s racing… This is a tough pill to swallow, but it’s one I’ll learn from.”
As a result of the withdrawal, Mahiki Racing will instead focus on competing with its #69 and #88 Ginetta GT4 entries for the season’s conclusion. Team Parker Racing’s #12 Mercedes will be piloted by Ed McDermott and reigning GT4 Pro-Am champion Seb Morris, who previously secured the inaugural 2025 GT4 Endurance Cup title.
Mahiki’s statement concluded: “We’re excited to finish this season and look toward 2026, where we are determined to campaign with a GT3 lineup with British GT and SRO.”
