Blackthorn Aston Martin and Mahiki Ginetta Secure Pole Positions at Spa-Francorchamps

Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium – The #7 Blackthorn Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo, driven by Giacomo Petrobelli and Jonny Adam, delivered a standout performance to clinch pole position for the British GT Championship race. This marks the team’s first pole of the season, with Petrobelli recording a time that was 0.772 seconds faster than Kevin Tse’s #18 2 Seas Mercedes-AMG GT3.

In a tightly contested session, Adam faced off against McLaren factory driver Marvin Kirchhöfer, ultimately securing the combined team time of 4:33.740, ahead of Optimum Motorsport’s #77 McLaren, which clocked a combined 4:34.029. The #67 Orange Racing by JMH McLaren, driven by Simon Orange and Marcus Clutton, took third with a time of 4:34.409. The top five positions were rounded out by Barwell’s #1 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 and the championship-leading #42 2 Seas Mercedes-AMG.

In the GT4 category, the #84 Mahiki Racing Ginetta G56 GT4 Evo, driven by Josh Miller and Jack Mitchell, achieved pole position with a record-breaking performance. Miller set a new GT4 qualifying record with a time of 2:27.493, eclipsing the previous mark by four seconds. Their combined lap time of 4:54.627 placed them ahead of the #71 Century Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 Evo in second with 4:56.351.
