Nürburgring 24 Hours Update: Six-Hour Mark
As the 2025 Nürburgring 24 Hours reaches the six-hour mark, Manthey’s #911 Porsche 911 GT3 R 992 leads the field. Following a 2.5-hour red flag due to a power outage, Kevin Estre resumed in the lead before handing over to Ayhancan Güven. The Porsche maintains a seven-second lead over the #98 ROWE Racing BMW, which has surged from ninth to second, thanks to an impressive performance from Kelvin van der Linde.
Disaster struck for the #33 Falken Porsche when driver Julien Andlauer collided with the #94 Sante Royale Racing Team Porsche at Turn 2, leading to significant front-end damage and necessitating a pit stop for repairs. Following this incident, the #14 GetSpeed Mercedes, driven by Maxime Martin, climbed to third, with Ralf Aron in the #17 GetSpeed AMG securing fourth after a fierce battle with David Pittard (Walkenhorst Aston Martin) and Jordan Pepper (#27 ABT Lamborghini).
Kondo Racing’s Ferrari, currently 15th overall, has faced setbacks after an unscheduled pit stop due to a slow puncture shortly after the restart. The team had previously lost the lead due to supplementary regulations.
Additional noteworthy incidents include the #8 Juta Racing Audi, which narrowly avoided a crash at Pflanzgarten after Alexey Vermenko encountered backmarkers, and a solo crash by Eric Ullström in the #50 equipes vitesse Audi at Hohe Acht.
In GT4, the #111 Schnitzelalm Mercedes AMG GT4 was eliminated after crashing out, allowing the #187 FK Performance Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 to take the lead, followed by the #67 AV Racing BMW and #175 PROsport Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4.
In TCR, Robert Wickens has completed his first stint in the #831 Hyundai Elantra N TCR, currently positioned second in class, trailing the #830 sibling car by ten seconds. “At the restart, it was pretty good… settled into a good rhythm,” Wickens noted on his experience.
Lastly, the much-anticipated Dacia Logan has finally joined the race after overcoming early mechanical issues.
