Mercedes-AMG Unveils Robust Line-Up for 2026 Bathurst 12 Hour

Mercedes-AMG has confirmed an unprecedented entry of ten vehicles for the 2026 Bathurst 12 Hour, set to take place from February 13-15, marking a significant commitment to this premier GT racing event. This representation includes six AMG GT3 Evos in the Pro category, alongside two entries in both Pro-Am and Bronze classes.

The primary effort comes from Mercedes-AMG’s customer racing partner, Tigani Motorsport, which leads the challenge with a strong line-up. Notably, the #6 car, backed by Geyer Valmont, will feature drivers Philip Ellis, Jayden Ojeda, and Fabian Schiller under the banner of “Mercedes-AMG Team Tigani Motorsport.”

  • #44 (Pro-Am): Geyer Valmont Racing/Tigani Motorsport – Scott Andrews / Brendon Leitch / Sergio Pires / Marcel Zalloua
  • #47 (Bronze): Supabarn Supermarkets/Tigani Motorsport – Zach Bates / James Koundouris / Theo Koundouris / David Russell
  • #75 (Pro): 75 Express – Jules Gounon / Kenny Habul / Luca Stolz (a two-time winner with a consistent podium streak since 2020)
  • #100 (Pro): Grove Racing – Kai Allen / Will Davison / Brenton Grove
  • #888 (Pro): Mercedes-AMG Team GMR – Maro Engel / Mikaël Grenier / Maxime Martin (returning line-up from 2025)
  • #222 (Pro): Scott Taylor Motorsport – Chaz Mostert / Thomas Randle / Cameron Waters

Tigani’s #44 entry has garnered additional support through Geyer Valmont, while RAM Motorsport will re-enter the competition with the #45 Pro-Am entry featuring Brett Hobson and others, marking their first appearance since 2022. Additionally, Ian James will compete in the Bronze-class #27 entry for Heart of Racing by SPS, the reigning class champion.

Stefan Wendl, Head of Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing, expressed confidence in the team’s prospects, stating, “With ten Mercedes-AMG GT3 cars, including six in the Pro class, we will field the largest brand entry in 2026. Our goal is clear: we want to fight for overall victory once again at the Intercontinental GT Challenge opener.”

The expectation surrounding the Bathurst 12 Hour continues to grow as teams finalize their preparations for what promises to be a highly competitive race in one of the most technically challenging circuits in GT racing.
