Motorsport News Acquired by MotorSport Vision
In a significant development, UK-based Motorsport News has been acquired by MotorSport Vision (MSV) from Kelsey Media. This transition marks a pivotal moment for the publication, which has reported on UK motorsport for over 70 years. The current editorial team, including editor Matt James and deputy editor Graham Keilloh, will continue in their roles to ensure a seamless transition.
MSV, which oversees five major racing circuits in Great Britain, aims to enhance the publication’s extensive coverage of national motorsport events. Managing Director of Kelsey Media’s automotive division, Phil Weeden, emphasized the publication’s respected legacy, stating, “Motorsport News is such a well-respected publication… With MSV’s fresh investment, we’re confident this iconic brand can live on for many more years to come.”
Jonathan Palmer, Chief Executive of MSV, echoed this sentiment, expressing his determination to counteract the decline in printed coverage of UK motorsport. “I am delighted that MSV is acquiring Motorsport News… We will work carefully and quickly to progressively evolve a publication with a great heritage,” he remarked.
The final edition under Kelsey Media will be published on September 25, with MSV’s inaugural issue set for October 2. This acquisition signals a renewed focus on preserving and enhancing the future of motorsport journalism in the UK.
