Nico Müller Rejoins JDC-Miller MotorSports for IMSA Season Finale
Porsche factory driver Nico Müller is set to return to JDC-Miller MotorSports, piloting the #85 “Banana Boat” Porsche 963 in the final two rounds of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Müller will collaborate with team regulars Tijmen van der Helm and Gianmaria Bruni at the TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
Müller made his initial appearance for JDC-Miller at the Twelve Hours of Sebring, where the #85 finished eighth in the GTP class. Since then, he has gained additional experience in the Porsche 963, competing at the WEC 6 Hours of Spa and serving as a reserve driver for the Le Mans 24 Hours.
Expressing enthusiasm about his return, Müller stated, “I am very excited to be back with JDC-Miller MotorSports. We demonstrated good pace and great potential during the 12-hour event, and I’m looking forward to building on that performance.”
John Church, Managing Partner of JDC-Miller, highlighted Müller’s quick adaptation to the 963, stating, “He will give us that little bit of extra pace we are looking for. We finished third last year at this race, so our goal is to move up a step or two.”
JDC-Miller recently concluded their home race at Road America, where the #85 Porsche joined the #79 ORECA 07-Gibson LMP2, driven by Gerry Kraut and Scott Andrews. The team is actively exploring options to expand their lineup, with an additional Porsche 963 potentially joining the grid by 2026, pending the right financial backing and driver agreements.
Church noted, “The number one thing is the business side… we’ll be looking for drivers with previous 963 experience to aid the transition.”
As the season finale approaches, Müller’s experience and partnership with JDC-Miller aim to enhance the team’s competitive edge in the remaining races.
