Nasr Targets Third Consecutive Win at Sebring

Sebring, FL — Felipe Nasr, a formidable presence in North American sports car racing with three IMSA SportsCar Championship titles and three consecutive Rolex 24 at Daytona victories, is poised to defend his title at the upcoming Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. With his recent win at Daytona alongside co-drivers Julien Andlauer and Laurin Heinrich in the #7 Porsche Penske Motorsports 963, Nasr currently leads the GTP class in the championship standings.

“It’s another race that I love to take part in,” remarked Nasr. “The unique character of Sebring poses technical challenges for setup and reliability. After a dream start at Daytona, we aim to carry that momentum.”

Sebring’s 3.74-mile track is recognized for its rough surface and demanding conditions, intensifying the need for optimal car setup and parts durability. Nasr, who debuted in North American sportscar racing in 2012, returned to IMSA in 2018. His leadership role at Porsche Penske Motorsport has evolved, particularly in a restructuring period marked by significant driver changes.

Team Penske President Jonathan Diuguid praised Nasr’s contributions: “He’s been the consistency and stability we need, particularly as the team navigates changes.”

In his prior Rolex 24 wins, Nasr has partnered with multiple co-drivers. However, with new full-season teammate Andlauer, who has limited IMSA experience, Nasr will facilitate their growth in the factory team environment. Heinrich, a rising star, recently won the Daytona 24 in just his second outing with the 963.

“This partnership allows me to pass on my experience,” Nasr commented. “Endurance racing is about teamwork; learning from each other is crucial. I see significant potential in both.”

As qualifying approaches, Nasr has demonstrated promising pace, setting the fastest time in the second practice session for GTP cars. The team is now focused on securing pole position and competing for victory in tomorrow night’s race.

The expectations are high for Nasr, as he continues to exemplify excellence in a storied career at Sebring, a venue known for its history and challenges.
