Practice Results from Sebring: Porsche and Aston Martin Dominate

Sebring, FL — Porsche Penske Motorsport reinforced its dominance at the Sebring circuit in Practice 2, with Felipe Nasr clocking the fastest lap in the #7 963 at 1:47.043—nearly a second clear of the previous session’s best.

The #60 Acura Meyer Shank Racing w/Curb Agajanian ARX-06, driven by Tom Blomqvist, showed significant improvement, posting a time of 1:47.302 to secure second place. Jack Aitken in the #31 Cadillac Whelen completed the top three, just ahead of the #6 Porsche, which finished fourth after Kevin Estre managed an early session push.

The two Wayne Taylor Cadillacs also demonstrated competitive pace, with Filipe Albuquerque in the #10 achieving fifth fastest and Louis Delétraz in the #40 following closely in sixth.

In LMP2, the AO Racing team made headlines by repairing the damaged #99 ‘Spike the Dragon’ ORECA between sessions. Driver Dane Cameron then logged the class’s fastest time at 1:50.639. Reigning Sebring winner Tom Dillmann’s #43 Inter Europol Competition entry trailed closely, while Sebastian Alvarez’s #8 Tower Motorsports rounded out the top three.

The GTD Pro class saw the #77 AO Racing Porsche dominate once again, with rookie Harry King posting a best lap of 2:00.070. Dean MacDonald in the #59 RLL Team McLaren followed in second, with the #62 Risi Competizione Ferrari in third. Notably, Dudu Barrichello drove the #27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin to an impressive 2:00.029, surpassing the entire GT field.

The #57 Winward Racing Mercedes, fastest in Practice 1, finished the session second in class, while Frederik Schandorff in the #70 Inception Racing Ferrari and Giacomo Altoè in the #81 Dragonspeed Corvette completed the top five in GTD.
