Nick Tandy Awarded 2024 Segrave Trophy for Endurance Racing Excellence
The Royal Automobile Club has honored Nick Tandy with the prestigious 2024 Segrave Trophy, recognizing his exceptional accomplishments in endurance racing’s premier events. Tandy’s remarkable achievements include victories at the four major 24-hour races: the 24 Hours of Le Mans (2015), Nürburgring 24 Hours (2018), Spa 24 Hours (2020), and Daytona 24 Hours (2025).
The Segrave Trophy is awarded annually to individuals or teams from British or Commonwealth nations who demonstrate extraordinary skill and courage in various arenas, including land and water speed records. Past recipients have included famous figures such as Sir Malcolm Campbell MBE and Sir Lewis Hamilton.
Duncan Wiltshire, Chairman of the Royal Automobile Club, stated, “Nick Tandy exemplifies the very qualities that the Segrave Trophy represents. His unique quartet of victories is a feat few could achieve. Nick’s remarkable career cements his status among Britain’s motorsport greats.”
Receiving the award during a luncheon at the RAC Club in London, Tandy expressed gratitude, saying, “I am truly humbled. Endurance racing is a team sport; these victories belong to my teammates, engineers, mechanics, and supporters. To be recognized by the Royal Automobile Club is a huge honor. I hope my journey inspires others to chase their racing dreams.”
The ceremony also featured Martin Brundle, a past Segrave Trophy winner, who interviewed Tandy, with Allan McNish highlighting that Tandy’s overall win at Petit Le Mans in 2015 further exemplifies his extraordinary talent in motorsports.
