Pfaff Motorsports Outlines Testing Strategy Ahead of 2026 Season with New Lamborghini Temerario GT3
Pfaff Motorsports’ General Manager, Steve Bortolotti, confirmed that the team is strategically preparing for the debut of the Lamborghini Temerario GT3 at the 2026 12 Hours of Sebring. The Canadian team, notable for winning the inaugural GTD PRO Teams’ championship in 2022, plans to race the Huracán GT3 EVO2 in January’s 24 Hours of Daytona before transitioning to the new model at Sebring in March.
Bortolotti detailed the testing schedule, stating, “We’ll be doing the November sanctioned test with the Temerario at Daytona. Following that, we will conduct the Sebring endurance test, with the goal of understanding and enhancing the car’s reliability prior to its competitive debut.”
Despite a challenging 2025 season—highlighted by a solitary podium finish at Detroit—Bortolotti remains committed to regaining the team’s competitive edge. He noted, “We’re not where we want to be in the standings. I want to get back to contending for podiums regularly and garnering wins when opportunities arise.” Acknowledging the setbacks faced last season, he emphasized this year as a learning experience. “We must build upon this for next season,” he added.
Additionally, the driver lineup will be confirmed by November, with James Hinchcliffe reducing his commitment to just the 24 Hours of Daytona and not participating in subsequent races. Bortolotti remarked, “Hinch will do Daytona with us next year. The rest of the lineup is ultimately up to Lamborghini.”
While reflecting on the team’s resilience and the upswing in support from Lamborghini Squadra Corse, Bortolotti expressed gratitude: “It’s been a challenging year, but it’s ultimately a blessing in disguise with Lamborghini providing a great home.”
Pfaff Motorsports is poised to leverage its partnerships and lessons learned as it prepares for a pivotal 2026 season, aiming to return to the forefront of GTD PRO competition.
