2026 74th Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring: Practice Session One Results
Sebring, FL – Laurens Vanthoor clocked the fastest lap in the first practice session for the 2026 Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring, posting a time of 1:47.985 in the #6 Porsche Penske Motorsport 963. The comparison was tight, with Felipe Nasr’s #7 Porsche finishing a mere 0.026 seconds behind, showcasing the competitive edge in the GTP class.
Jack Aitken led the Cadillac contingent, securing third overall with a lap of 1:48.011 in the #31 Cadillac Whelen. The #40 Cadillac from Wayne Taylor Racing, driven by Louis Deletraz, and the sister #10 entry, piloted by Filipe Albuquerque, rounded out the top five.
In LMP2, Paul Di Resta established the pace for the class with a 1:50.700 in the #22 United Autosports USA ORECA. Ferdinand Habsburg’s strong performance in the #18 Era Motorsport entry earned him second overall, following a challenging season opener at Daytona.
However, the session was marred by an incident involving the #99 AO Racing car, driven by Dane Cameron, which crashed at Turn 17. The resulting damage will force the team to expedite repairs and will incur a penalty stripping their fastest lap ahead of qualifying.
The GTD Pro class saw reigning champions, the #77 AO Racing Porsche, top the field with a 2:00.297 from Alessio Picariello. Tommy Milner’s #4 Corvette and the #62 Ferrari Risi Competitzione, driven by Daniel Serra, secured second and third places, respectively. In the overall GT rankings, Philip Ellis’s #57 Winward Racing entry led the GTD class with a time of 1:59.363.
Practice Session Two is scheduled to commence at 16:00 local time as teams prepare for the race weekend.
